So many of you are already keen to attend with many registrations submitted already!

The Convention is the largest annual gathering of Victorian Agricultural Show Enthusiasts where networking and developing knowledge is at the forefront of the convention. Workshops and meetings along with State Final Competitions are held including Junior Show Ambassador, Carrot Cake, Junior Carrot & Sultana Muffins. Also for the inaugural year we will present our Show Awards for the first time at the Convention Dinner.

People's Choice Award Top 10 Finalists

After 1 month of voting for the inaugural People's Choice Award, we received 1865 votes in total and the below show societies have made the Top 10 of the People’s Choice Award.

The final placings will be announced at the VAS Ltd Convention Dinner, which is on the 12th July so we encourage your Show Society to have a representative at the Dinner!

National Volunteer Week - Connecting Communities

VAS would like to recognise and thank the many volunteers that work tirelessly to run their annual show event from year to year.

As National Volunteer Week comes around the theme this year is connecting communities, which an Agricultural Show is such a pivotal part of communities and getting everyone together.

Make sure you recognise and thank your local volunteers in your community. A thank you can go a long way!

Vale Greg Macdonald

VAS Ltd would like to express our deepest sympathy to Greg's family during this sad time on the passing of Greg Macdonald.

Greg has been a very active board member as he was in his ninth year on the board and had served almost 7 years as Treasurer. Greg was awarded a Life Membership of VAS last year after many years of dedicated service. He was passionate about the next generation and he was chairperson of the Rural Ambassador Sub-Committee for 2 years and attended most Rural Ambassador information days as well as the State Finals. He also assisted with the Saddle Horse Championships for many years as a steward,

He was a very forward thinking director and provided years of dedicated service to the board and the agricultural show movement.

Greg also had a lifetime involvement with the Lilydale & Yarra Valley Show having joined the committee at the age of 16 and most recently the Society's Treasurer. He was made a life member of the Lilydale Show in 1994.

After a courageous battle he is now at peace and the agricultural show world will greatly miss his dedication and valuable contribution he has made.

His Funeral will be held on Wednesday 21st May at 10:30am at Heritage & Heritage - 733 Boronia Road, Wantirna.

Poultry Judging State Final

The State Final will be held on the 24th May 2025 at the Ballarat Showgrounds. This State Final replaces the State Final that we had to cancel at the Melbourne Royal Show due to the Avian Influenza. The winner of the State Final will represent Victoria this year in September at the National Finals at the Royal Adelaide Show.
